Farmhand (Full-time)

Soladox Botanicals is a farming and processing operation that grows herbs for medicinal uses. Farmhand role fills “duties as needed” position on farm and helps wherever is needed… duties may require working as a team or independently to complete projects.  Prior experience with agriculture or farming equipment is preferred but not required.

This is a year-round position.

Work Schedule:

●    40-50 hour work weeks / 5 days a week. 7am-3pm.      

●   May require a non-traditional schedule with weekend shifts.       

●    May require longer days with OT if we are harvesting or planting. 

Wage & Benefits:

●      $16-19/hr with OT depending on experience

Reports To:

●      Farm Production Manager (Eric)

Responsibilities:

●  Work in the farm’s greenhouse seeding, potting up, watering, fertilizing, monitoring plant health, and preparing plants for transplanting.

●  Perform field activities with farm crew, such as transplanting, cultivation, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting medicinal herbs.

●  Dry and process medicinal herbs with farm crew

●  Operate and maintain farm equipment, including tractors, cultivation, and processing equipment.

●  Collaborate with Farm Manager to ship dried herbs and to set work schedules for field crew.

●  Follow farm safety guidelines and training.

●  Perform basic record-keeping and light housekeeping of farm facilities.

●  Have the ability to think on feet in a farming context (anticipate next steps, ability to prioritize and problem solve) 

●      Have great attention to detail

●  Show a learning attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a team

●  Love getting their hands dirty

Job Requirements:

●  Must be able to be on your feet in varied weather for extended periods of time

●      Must be able to lift 50 lbs comfortably

●      Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation

●      Must be legally eligible to work in the US (E-Verify) 

●      Must be able to pass a background check
